Eve Patch Download File Location

Copying to Steam from a normal Eve install. Trying to bypass the download but a simple file swap into the common file or the 8500 folder inside the downloads folder isn't doing it. Fired up the Steam download from the Eve page with a full copied folder inside the common folder and Steam deleted everything and left 900MBs of an 11GB file. I am trying to develop a 'document manager'

Eve patch download

I have the necessity of accessing the files downloaded from the internet, from Gmail, for other mail clients, from other internet sources...

I would like to understand where these files are stored exactly on Android:

1- if there is an SD

2- if there is no SD Card

so that I can show them to the user in my App at any time.

Any help very much appreciated.

Most devices have some form of emulated storage. if they support sd cards they are usually mounted to /sdcard (or some variation of that name) which is usually symlinked to to a directory in /storage like /storage/sdcard0 or /storage/0 sometimes the emulated storage is mounted to /sdcard and the actual path is something like /storage/emulated/legacy. You should be able to use to get the downloads directory. You are best off using the api calls to get directories. Environment.getExternalStoragePublicDirectory(Environment.DIRECTORY_DOWNLOADS);

Since the filesystems and sdcard support varies among devices.

Eve Patch Download File Locations

Usually the DownloadManager handles downloads and the files are then accessed by requesting the file's uri fromthe download manager using a file id to get where file was places which would usually be somewhere in the sdcard/ real or emulated since apps can only read data from certain places on the filesystem outside of their data directory like the sdcard

As of Smart Update 3.3.0, you can no longer use Smart Update to download patches. You must instead log in to My Oracle Support directly to download the appropriate patches. This chapter describes how to do this.

Before You Begin

Prior to downloading patches from My Oracle Support:

  • Have a valid My Oracle Support login and password available. If you do not have a My Oracle Support account, go to https://support.oracle.com, click the Register link, and follow the instructions.

  • Determine the directory to which you want to download patches. If all machines have internet access, you should download patches to the same directory path on each machine (although this is not required). If you have machines that do not have internet access, download patches to a centralized location, such as a remotely mounted disk or removable media.

  • Make a note of the version number of your current product installation. You will need this information when searching for available patches on My Oracle Support.
